FRIED HATS – Uganda Nyabirongo

This lot comes from Nyabirongo, on the southern slopes of the Rwenzori Mountains, on the border with the DRC (Democratic Republic of Congo). Here in the region, hundreds of smallholder coffee farmers deliver SL14 and SL28 coffee cherries to Agri Evolve at the Nyabirongo station. These SL varieties are known to most from neighboring Kenya, where they are known for their bright, floral notes and acidity, and in this case, they provide an excellent example of how outstanding Ugandan coffee can be.
